Night Launch of Endeavour (STS-126)
Posted by Dave in Photography, tags: D3, Photography, Space ShuttleOn Friday November 14th, we were lucky enough to watch the night launch of the Endeavour space shuttle from the Causeway at the Kennedy Space Center. This was pretty amazing to say the least and was quite challenging to photograph. The cropped shows the launch, just as the shuttle cleared the tower. The orginal photograph was taken in portrait orientation, with my D3, 200-400 with 1.4 teleconverter, ISO 800, 1/125 sec @ f11. The causeway is about 6.5-7 miles from the launch pad. I”ll be posting an article on my experiences photographing the night launch in the near future.

Hi Dave, well I am surprised your not on board the ISS taking photos there…..!
No doubt that is your next holiday plan.
I look forward to seeing the rest of the pics.
Love to you and Jennine from all of us in the UK.
Cheers
Steve
Hi Dave, I was in your side at KSC on causeway the night launch with my “poor” 40D camera and 100-400 zoom !
I shooted the Endeavour night launch as you and I taked a “shuttle time lapsed” pic since T-30 seconds to MECO.
Cheers
